A Spotlight on the Encore Wire TechLab

At the heart of Encore Wire's 460-acre campus in McKinney, TX is our Encore TechLab^®.  Built in 2010, the lab's central location on campus positions both the Research and Development and Quality teams well for quick, on-site communication and rapid test results. 

Designed to meet LEED Platinum standards, the Encore TechLab^® is our center for continued process improvement and product development, and facilitates new product introductions to market – so we can aim to meet and exceed our customers' evolving needs.

Our TechLab is certified through UL's Data Acceptance Program so that new products can be tested expeditiously.  Rather than waiting on results from an off-site party, new products are introduced quickly to the market. John Rhoads, Research and Development Manager at Encore Wire comments on our NM-B PCS residential and commercial solution introduced in 2022:

As part of the facility, tests are routinely performed in various labs including wet, oven, analytical, flame, compounding and R&D labs.  John also explains how the Encore TechLab® has the credentials of 280 UL tests covered under 18 UL Standards.
