From Humble Beginnings, creating a Bright Future
Encore Wire began its legacy in 1989, as a 68,000 square foot industrial warehouse building in McKinney, Texas. With support and dedication from our employees, our customers and our community, we have grown to over 3.5 million square feet under roof and stretch across 460 acres. Today, Encore Wire is a leading manufacturer of copper and aluminum residential, commercial and industrial building wire.

Encore Wire expanded its product line into commercial wire; added Plant 2

Encore Wire expanded its product line again; added Plant 3, Circuit Wire (THHN, MTW & Striping)
2004
Encore Wire expanded the DC to 420,000 sq. ft. and 60 dock doors

Encore Wire grows again; added Plant 4, Armored Cable

Encore Wire added Plant 5, Industrial Cable, to its campus
2010
Encore TechLab® was born! The LEED® Platinum Certified R&D Center was the first of its kind in North Texas
2012
Encore Wire added Plant 6 and introduced Aluminum building wire to its product line
2014
Encore Wire expanded its Aluminum plant by 225,000 sq. ft. for a total of 452,000 sq. ft.
2016
Encore Wire expanded its Armored Cable plant by 161,000 sq. ft. for a total of 321,000 sq.ft.
2021
Encore Wire built a new Service Center at 720,000 sq. ft., almost double the size of the previous facility
2022
The previous Distribution Center is converted to Plant 7, a Commercial and Industrial plant at 421,500 sq. ft.
The Employee Center opened with an expanded on-site medical clinic, recruiting and training departments, as well as an employee gym
2023
Encore Wire added a new, state-of-the-art, cross-link polyethylene (XLPE) compounding facility to deepen vertical integration related to wire and cable insulation
2024
Encore Wire built a new Residential Plant at 340,800 sq. ft. including four new 71 ft. silos
